Family and Friends of the Class of 2022 — We want to feature you in Commencement!

To make the ceremony both meaningful and fun, we are asking family and friends to submit photos and videos to be included in this year’s ceremony. Submit your short video and/or photos by 5 p.m. Friday, April 22. Please review the following information before submitting your content.

Video Upload
Record a video responding to one or more of the prompts below. You can submit as many responses as you’d like. Please keep your responses brief so we can incorporate as many as possible into the video.
Start your video by stating which prompt(s) you’re responding and then pause for a few seconds before recording your response.

Prompts:

  1. What does it feel like to watch your graduates cross the stage?
  2. What advice would you give your graduate as they graduate today?
  3. What message would you like to deliver to the Class of 2022?
  4. Say a short congratulatory message. (ex: “I’m so proud of you!”, “You did it”, “Congrats”, “Go Hop.”)
  5. Pass, toss, or “frisbee” a mortarboard – plain, decorated, even homemade – to your special graduate. (see the tutorial video below)

Video Guidelines:

  • Video should be no more than 1 minute.
  • Film your video horizontally, not vertically.
  • Avoid recording in loud environments or outside on a windy day.
  • Use a window as a fill light source and avoid having the window directly behind you.
  • Name your file as follows: yourfirstname_yourlastname

Photo Upload

Submit photos of you and your graduate during their time at Hopkins. We’d love to see anything from the moment they received their acceptance, to move-in, or family visits over the years.

Photo Guidelines:

  • Horizontal or vertical orientation are both acceptable.
  • Name your file as follows: yourfirstname_yourlastname

All submissions will be reviewed for appropriateness and adherence to specifications. By submitting your content, you agree to the Johns Hopkins University User-Generated Content Agreement
