Student Speaker Nominations
The nomination process is open!
Commencement serves as a celebration and culmination of the hard work and amazing memories that graduating seniors have made during their time at Johns Hopkins University. The senior commencement speaker not only serves as a representative of the graduating class, but also personifies the spirit, experience, and excellence of a JHU graduate.
This year, we invite faculty, staff, and students to nominate members of the senior class who not only personify the spirit, experience, and excellence of a JHU graduate, but who can also deliver commencement remarks that represent the drive, accomplishments, and aspirational goals on behalf of the graduating class. Nominees must also be in good academic standing and involved in extracurricular activities and student organizations on campus.
The student commencement speaker will be selected by a committee of faculty and staff from across the university including University Student Services, the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences, the Whiting School of Engineering, and the Peabody Institute. Members of the senior class will also be able to participate by casting their vote for the student speaker finalists via the JHU Commencement website.
If you would like to nominate a member of the graduating undergraduate class to serve as the student commencement speaker, please complete the nomination form by Friday, February 14, 2025. Self-nominations from members of the senior class are welcome.
The student speaker will be announced in April 2025.
