Johns Hopkins is committed to promoting the full participation of all individuals with disabilities in the Commencement exercises. Below is information pertaining to the universitywide ceremony and the accommodations made for individuals with disabilities.

Parking

Accessible parking spaces will be available on a first-come, first-served basis in the Homewood Field lot in front of the Imagine Center; a state-issued license plate or hangtag is required. Additional accessible parking spaces are available in the South and San Martin garages, and accessible shuttles are available from the garages to Homewood Field.

Drop-Off Area

An accessible drop-off area is available at the Schelle Pavilion entrance to Homewood Field on West University Parkway.

If traveling in a group, we encourage guests to drop off guests needing assistance and then proceed to park in one of the campus garages. This will allow us to maximize accessible spaces for those who are traveling alone or who need assistance.

Seating

The ceremony will have a designated seating area for persons who require ADA seating. Seating is available for the individual with the disability and one companion on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests registered for ADA seating and their companion should enter the stadium through the Schelle Pavilion. To register for ADA seating, please follow this link.

For other guests with mobility restrictions, it is strongly recommended that you arrive early to find a seat that meets your needs. The gates will open at 8:00 a.m. For assistance, please see an usher or a Commencement volunteer. All guests are asked to be seated by 8:45 a.m.

Large screens on either side of the stage will project the ceremony, including graduates crossing the stage, to provide all guests with a good view of the ceremony and their graduate.

Captioning and ASL Interpreters

Captions and ASL interpretation will be displayed on the screens during the ceremony.
