Before Commencement Checklist

  • Stay informed by following us on Instagram and Facebook and continue to visit the Commencement website for updates.
  • RSVP for Commencement. In order to participate, even if you do not plan to attend in person, all graduates must RSVP and submit a photo for the ceremony via MarchingOrder.
  • Share your memories and Lend your voice. Send in pictures and videos and take a moment to record your answer to a few questions to be included in the ceremony via the Graduate Submission Form. The deadline to submit content was April 30.
  • Apply to Graduate: Deadline for undergraduate registration was February 7.  If you have questions about your application please contact asenverify@jhu.edu. Visit the Office of the Registrar’s website for more information.

  • Get your Cap and Gown: SGA’s Student Activities Commission is buying seniors of the Class of 2021 their cap and gown. Pick yours up at the JHU Bookstore between now and May 24. Or you can order online at to have it shipped home, shipping and handling will apply.
  • Sign up for text alerts: Receive weather related texts on Commencement day by entering your cell phone number in the box at the bottom of the Commencement homepage.
  • Select a Diploma Frame. You can order your diploma frame online at Johns Hopkins Alumni Association or Johns Hopkins Barnes and Noble.

  • Be part of the JHU Ring Tradition: You may order online at Balfour or 1-800-225-3687. More information about the ring ceremony can be found online here.
  • Customize and purchase your graduation announcements from CB Graduation Announcements.
